At LAMP 2025, a recent study by Fraunhofer ILT and industry partners evaluated Monkey TPU 50 with one central question:
Can SLS-produced TPU components be used in media-tight, functional applications?
The answer:
Not in the as-printed state – but absolutely with the right process chain.
With aligned process parameters and suitable post-processing, closed surfaces and functional parts such as vacuum grippers become feasible.
What this shows:
Additive materials are evolving.
From “just printable powders” to validated, application-ready engineering materials.
That’s exactly the ambition behind Powder Monkeys:
Materials that don’t just print well – but perform in real industrial environments.
