We are the PowderMonkeys!!! That’s Martin and Christian Launhardt. We have set ourselves the goal of helping to shape 3D printing for everyone. Our vision is that anyone can purchase affordable 3D printing material to realize their own ideas using 3D printing. We have focused in particular on powder-based 3D printing, as selective laser sintering (SLS), sometimes also known as selective laser melting, enables the production of high-strength components.
3D printed parts do not have to break
Most people who talk about 3D printing are talking about fused deposition modeling (FDM). The components produced using the filament deposition process have a very characteristic bulging surface and at least the components from consumer FDM printers often tend to break easily. This is partly due to the plastic filament used, but also to the process technology itself. While in FDM, already cooled melt strands are usually deposited on top of each other and therefore cannot form a strong bond, in SLS, fine plastic powder is completely melted at the points where the component is to be produced.
SLS does not require support structures
With SLS, it is possible to print stable and truly resilient components in three dimensions. These can be accessories and spare parts for your mountain bike, or an individualized cell phone cover, a holder for your gadgets in the car or even gear wheels or screws to develop your own technical systems. In addition to the high mechanical properties, selective laser sintering also offers the advantage that it does not require any support structures. The components come out of the system completely finished and without connection points. SLS therefore enables the production of complex and stable components.
The only problem: no large SLS powder selection
There are currently not many different powder materials available for the SLS process. In order to change this and offer affordable SLS powder alternatives, we have joined forces and developed new SLS powder materials.
Better than previous 3D printing powders
As a result, we have been working intensively on the subject and have actually been able to tailor the SLS powders specifically for use in small SLS systems in order to achieve the best results. This means that our SLS powder materials will not only be cheaper, but also better than those of our competitors.
100 % Green SLS Powder
100 % Reusable SLS Powder
When developing our SLS powder materials, we paid particular attention to the ecological and economic aspects and offer our 3D printing powders either fully recyclable (e.g. TPU and PP) or recycled and reprocessed PA12 powder.
If you want to know more, just contact us and we will be happy to give you more information about the materials.
